The Wild Decoelis | how to help your kids Adjust to Daylight Savings Time with PampersIt’s that time of year again! The clocks are about to spring ahead an hour, which means everyone has to adjust to losing an hour of sleep and going to bed an hour early. We have teamed up with Pampers again this month to give you some tips on how to help you get your babies back on track with sleeping.First off, we always trust Pampers Baby Dry diapers to lock in wetness overnight and help Poppy sleep without having to worry about a wet diaper waking her up. As you read in our post a few months ago about the redesigned of the Baby Dry diapers, it is our go to now.The Wild Decoelis | how to help your kids Adjust to Daylight Savings Time with Pampers | Mommy and me on couchWe asked sleep expert Kim West for her tips on how to successfully shift a baby’s sleep schedule during Daylight Savings Time (DST). Here are her tips:

  • Slowly shift bedtime to earlier a few days before DST by 10-15 mins a night. That way, it isn’t such a hard switch after.
  • Open Curtains or start the time change off with an early morning walk so that the sunshine being up earlier will help their bodies adjust.
  • Adjust Baby’s naptime prior to That will allow babies to not be exhausted between nap and bedtime.

  • Stick to the new time for everything. Think of it like when you travel to a country with a time change. The only way to beat jet lag is to dive right into the new time. Same goes for babies and Daylight Saving T
  • Keep them busy throughout the day for the first few days. That will make the earlier naptime and bedtime a lot easier as they will be tired out.
  • With an earlier bedtime, we also swear by blackout curtains in our kid’s rooms so that, even though the sun might be up still when they are going to bed, it won’t affect their ability to fall asleep.

Besides, there is a direct correlation between a baby’s mood being much happier and outgoing if they are well rested. A happy baby is an easy baby 😉Want to find out more tips on Daylight Savings Time and baby sleep schedules?
