Well, we have officially reached that stage in my pregnancy where my body starts to hate me. I'm sure many of you mom's know it all too well. Your lower back gives out when you lay the wrong way, there are extreme tendon pains if baby decides to swim where she doesn't belong and bending over for ANYTHING is a movement of the past. This belly of mine sure has seen better days. But as we dive into week 32 of growing this baby of ours, we also start to see a reoccurrence of an issue I faced with Aubrey as well. Unfortunately, this one isn't of the norm and can be quite troubling.

Around 28 weeks with Aubrey, my platelets started to drop. They were slow going but started to drop all the same. This caused a problem and if not monitored, could hurt both baby and I. So as we entered into the third trimester, I was watched with bi-weekly and then weekly blood tests to make sure they stayed above the 100 mark. If they were to dive below, it would mean an automatic induction of my labor to get Aubrey out and make sure my blood was clotting properly.

Unfortunately, with baby number 2, I wasn't lucky enough to escape this again. So the bi-weekly blood tests have begun. But, the platelets are dropping faster than with Aubrey. This can mean so many thing and we still have time to hopefully get them back up. The day before I gave birth to Aubrey, they skyrocketed. We are hoping that the same thing will happen here. We are so happy to have such a fantastic family doctor who doubles as an Obgyn because she is making sure all risks are assessed and watched. As we find out more, I will be sure to let you all know.

So beside that horrible bad news, Little Miss is laying sideways. She still has 4 weeks to make it head down but until then, I get to feel the extreme pressure of hands an feet bursting out my sides with her every move. I am trying to love it because I know I will miss it when she is out.

Pregnancy is GREAT!

I hope you other Mommas-to-be on this journey with me are having a healthy, happy pregnancy,

Katie Rose
