This weekend has already started out perfectly. Rob surprised me with my favorite yellow roses last night, when he arrived home. After the week I’ve had with Aubrey, they were much appreciated. This morning, we woke up as a family to a cold house, with snow in the air. Rob took Aubrey downstairs and spoiled me with the honor of sleeping in an extra hour. When I looked outside and saw the small flakes slowly falling, it made me think about the season ahead of us. Today, Aubrey saw snow for the the first time. And soon he will experience the love of Christmas that we as a family share. Christmas was always a special time for me growing up. Not for the gifts, but for the fact that it was the only time my entire family was guaranteed to be together. With my sister Hollie, being so much older than I, she seemed to have too busy of a social and sport life. On Christmas, I got to have her all day, and we would have a sister sleepover, all 3 of us in her bedroom. Its memories and traditions like this that I will now get to live over again through Aubrey’s eyes. I can’t wait to start.
Let the holiday spirit begin,
Katie Rose xo
