Our Easter Mantle Decor

Easter has always been one of my favourite Celebrations during the year. Not only does it mark that spring will soon be here in NS, but it always brought such a happy feeling all around.

I still remember growing up, Martha Stewart magazine would come every month and each Easter we would make new crafts to decorate the home. My kids aren't quite there yet with loving crafts but I definitely love decor that still has that same vibe.

If you've been following our blog for a long time you know I'm not into overly decorating for holidays. Simple is Definitely my style. And Easter still falls into that simplicity. I do however love using bunny rabbits as decor not just for Easter but for Spring.

Mirror, Candle Sticks, Flower Print, Bunny Garland,

For the mantle this year, We used what we already had and then went to HomeSense for a few new pieces. I love the way our force bloom forsythia really adds a punch. We love mixing textures like tghe metal, ceramic a wood to add depth.

Now that the house has some decor it's time to start picking away at those Easter baskets. After indulging a little too much at Christmas time, this year we are learning to dial back on everything. We are going to be shopping with the mindset of less is more. There is a rule of gifting we learned a few years ago and we really want to start putting it into play. It's called "something you want, some thing you need, some thing you wear, and some thing you read" So now that we have that rule into play we can really make sure we are purchasing one of each of those gifts for the baskets.
