This summer my youngest and I can’t do dairy, so This summer my youngest and I can’t do dairy, so the Ninja Creami has been our MVP. 🍦💜 Our local ice cream shop makes an amazing blueberry vegan scoop, and we wanted to try it at home—here’s exactly how we did it! INGREDIENTS (makes 2 Creami pints) • 1 cup raw cashews (boil 15 min, drain) • 1 can (13.5–14 oz) full-fat coconut milk • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen) • ½ cup white sugar (to taste) • 2 tsp vanilla extract • Pinch of salt • Optional: 1–2 tsp lemon juice (brightens) • Optional: 1 Tbsp vodka (helps keep it scoopable) STEPS 1. Blueberry compote: In a small pot, cook blueberries with 2–3 Tbsp of the sugar over medium heat until they burst and get jammy (about 5 minutes). Cool completely. 2. Blend base: In a high-speed blender add boiled cashews, coconut milk, remaining sugar, vanilla, salt (and lemon/vodka if using). Blend until ultra-smooth and creamy. 3. Fold: Stir in the cooled blueberry compote. For pretty swirls, don’t over-mix. 4. Freeze: Divide between two Ninja Creami pints (fill only to the max line). Snap on lids and freeze upright 24 hours. 5. First spin: Remove from freezer, install in the Creami, and run Lite Ice Cream (or Sorbet on some models). 6. Re-spin: If crumbly, add 1–2 Tbsp coconut milk down the center and Re-Spin once or twice until creamy. 7. Scoop & enjoy: Swirl in a spoonful of extra compote if you saved some. Serve immediately or refreeze 10–15 minutes for firmer scoops. Notes: Maple syrup works too (reduce slightly for sweetness). Want it nut-free? Skip cashews and use 1 can coconut milk + ½ can coconut cream. Save this for summer treat nights! In October, we ordered the cabinets for our laundry room after a full 10 months of gutting and renovating this room from an old 1970s plywood kitchen to our mudroom and laundry room. Because the room is north west facing it’s always dark. We decided to play on that darkness by doing a greyish brown cabinet. The problem is, it just made the space feel even darker and not the greatest way. It’s OK to make mistakes when you’re designing a space. Especially if you’re completely changing the use of a space. After living in this day in and day out, we realized it needed to be bright! Not dark. Since April I have been wanting to utilize the color Hay by @farrowandball in this space and this past week I finally dove in, not caring anymore what people may think of changing it so soon. Thanks to @maudhomeinteriors for shipping @farrowandball paint in Canada, I was able to get my hands on their Modern Eggshell which is perfect for cabinets. Now the big question, the black church pew needs to be painted….what color?!?

We got new sofas! well, actually, we got them a m We got new sofas! well, actually, we got them a month ago but wanted to test them out against our family of five dog and cats before we truly did a recommendation. Obviously, we love them. This is our second time using Canadian made family owned @kavuus. We had a sofa and chairs at our last house and now have these stunning sofas in this house. Story time: Poppy decided to rearrange our old sectional at New Year’s into a conversation style. We lived for five months with the sectional broken up into two sections facing each other (it wasn’t designed to really do this) so we decided it was finally time to order proper furniture that suited the layout she came up with and worked so well for our family. When we moved in, the windows were stuck shut, dra When we moved in, the windows were stuck shut, drafty, and clouded over — very ‘90s and not in a good way. Swapping them out has been one of the quietest but most meaningful changes. Fresh air, natural light, and views that finally feel like part of the home. We went with @jeldwencanada JWC8500 series in casement style and are so very happy. On these hot summer days, we noticed a huge difference in the heat of the sun, not transferring into the house as much as the old windows let in.
