Our Family Weekend With Ford Canada: Part 2

Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova ScotiaAs You saw from Monday's Post, Ford Canada lent us a Ford Flex to drive around for Family Day Long weekend and inspired us to get outside as a family.Sundays, have always been family night suppers at my parents and with my Mother's birthday dinner being cancelled because of snow, we rescheduled it for this past Sunday and had my sister and her family join in.We headed there in the Ford Canada Flex to show my dad all the fancy new technology. We have SOOOO MUCH snow here in Nova Scotia right now so we wanted to go out as a family and get fresh air and exercise. Rob and I had been given snowshoes a few christmases ago and love the workout that they give. Once Poppy was down for a nap, we strapped them on and made our way around my parents 100 acres of land with Aubrey in tow, literally. Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova ScotiaOne of my sisters and I's favourite past times as kids, was sledding down my parents huge hill in their backyard. All my cousins and neighbours would come join and we would spend hours out there going up and down the hill. It was such a big thing to us, that my dad had even thought about building a rope tow similar to what they have on the kiddy hills at ski hills, to haul us back up because walking wasted too much sledding time in our minds. I had a yellow sled and when I saw this one, I needed to get it for Aubrey. We took him to the little hill at the bottom of my parents big hill and let him learn how to sled and control it. He LOVED it.Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova ScotiaBut, of course nothing beats a ride on Grandad's Ski Doo. so even though they got stuck many times from the warm temperatures, Rob took Aubrey out for a rip before we headed back to start cooking my mom her birthday dinner. Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova ScotiaOn Monday, Ford Canada sent us to watch our hockey team here in Nova Scotia, the Mooseheads. I had never been to one of their game so was super stoked to see it live. We were worried about the kids but they actually did great for the first period anyways. Aubrey is super sensitive to loud noises when he is out of his element. That meant, by the end of the first period, we had eaten our popcorn and candy, and saw his stress levels rise with each cheer and scream. We gave him the option to stay or go have an early supper at the McDonalds Play-land on our way home. He chose McDonalds.  Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova Scotia Our Family Day Long weekend trip Snowshoeing in Nova ScotiaThat weekend was just what we needed and after a few tough weeks leading up to it, we were so happy to be doing things as a family that we all enjoyed. Thank you to Ford Canada for inspiring us to get out and hit the road from out favourite bakery, to a new experience in the city. That is what long weekends are all about!
