Our Powder Room Reno

Would it be crazy to say we have been collecting things for this bathroom renovation for over a year?

With this being the main bathroom our guests use when we have people over, we really wanted it to pack a punch. We went back-and-forth with what we should do to add lots of character and wallpaper was always the thing that we came back to. And truly, the wallpaper on the wall treatment were the only things we haven't been holding onto for a few months. We have been going back-and-forth on which wallpaper we wanted and what vibe we truly wanted to have when you walk into the space. As you may know, our home is in 1879 farmhouse which essentially means a Victorian era farmhouse. Because of that we really pull inspiration from that time to help make a lot of our design decisions. That didn't stop us from utilizing that in the space.

After redoing our awkward space (stay tuned as we will do a blog on that soon) we used Sandburg wallpaper based out of Sweden to truly transform that space into a character filled hallway. So obviously Sanberg wallpaper was our first stop when looking for wallpaper for the space. Our old home in our office had this beautiful gray toile we installed in our office the first month we had purchased it in 2018. Even during the sale of the house in 2022, we still absolutely loved that wallpaper. When we saw that Sandburg also had a toile collection, we knew it would be perfect for the Victorian era of the home and the style we really wanted for the space.

Once that decision was made, and the wallpaper was on hand it was finally time to rip up the old linoleum flooring, Lay leftover white oak from when we did our kitchen floor to tie into the kitchen, and completely revamp everything about the space.

We went with Farrow and Ball Light gray paint on all trim work, as well as the diamond pattern to the floor which was a last minute addition.

Our mirror, washstand and all of the design aspects of the space are vintage. But I have linked everything I can link below for you.
