After a Rough weekend of our baby girl doing some big painful movements, I think it’s safe to say that she is in position to make her appearance in a few short weeks. Of course, with those big moves, also came Braxton hicks, strong ones. So, this weekend after being on high alert for a possible early delivery, we decided to get to work on the baby’s room. Because we are in a 3 bedroom house, we have decided to turn the guest room into the baby’s nursery. But, with family and friends living far, we made the decision to keep our queen size bed in the room just incase this summer brought guests while baby is still co sleeping with us.
It’s funny, because as soon as we found out we were having a girl we said NO PINK. But, Rob had fallen involve with a blue mat and we needed to girl it up, so we naturally gravitated to the pinks. I think the blue and pink give it a really fresh balance. This room, I wish I would have taken before photos, was bright yellow walls and brown pained wood floors. We wanted an airy retreat feel so we went with all white which made decorating a dream.
When it came time to outfitting it with the necessities for baby, we turned to Munchkin for all of their awesome tech and baby items. The white sleek designs that they use with their nursery gear, make it easy to blend in. I mean, do you really want your diaper pail to stick out like a sore thumb for your guests?
One of our favourite Items is the Munchkin Nursery Projector and Sound System. We wish that we had this for Aubrey, but I think we feel that way about all of our new gadgets. Equipped with a nightlight, it gives a perfect blue glow for a baby to fall asleep to and when needed, you can turn on the projector which comes with three different slides that spin around the ceiling to gently put the baby to sleep. Another bonus? the great choices of sounds it offers with volume control, timer and voice activation. When all of these are turned on, the music or sound will play for a set amount of time. If, after the time is up, the baby is still awake and making noises? the sounds will come back on again for another round of that set time. I am excited to see it being put into action.
Another awesome gadget that we wish we would have had with Aubrey, is the Mist Wipe Warmer. Living in an old house, it can be quite drafty. When you are doing those late changes, you don’t want to alarm your sleepy baby with a freezing cold wipe to the tush. This solves that problem. On top of warming the wipes, it also has a misting chamber. This refillable water chamber mists the wipes with each use making sure no wipe gets wasted, unless you have a 3 year get at it.
Last but not least, the all important Step Diaper Pail. This Arm and Hammer powered dirty diaper house is miles ahead of our second hand one we have used for the last 3 years. With the replaceable baking soda disc and the lavender scented bags that twist between each diaper to lock in the smell, this pail will help us survive from the new born diaper changes to the big girl ones once food is introduced.
I don’t know about you, but I never knew Munchkin actually helped in the baby room. Using the plates and sippy cups for years with Aubrey, that was as far as I thought the brand went. But now, getting to try out these fantastic products soon with my baby girl, I get to see how well their products help around the whole house.
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks on what we used in the baby’s room and our decorating secrets.
Thanks to Munchkin for supporting my family with this post.
