Our buybuy BABY Haul
When we bought our home and moved, we did a huge purge. That meant that many, if not all of the baby gear we had been using since having Aubrey, and our family and friends also used, was passed on to new owners or donated. Our home is quite a bit smaller than our last, and to be totally honest, when you have had a miscarriage, you always seem to doubt that you’ll be able to have another baby. We had Poppy after the miscarriage, but that doom is still strong. We didn't want to hold onto things just in case a third didn't happen.
Well, little did we know that less than a month after moving in, our luck would hit and I was pregnant. But, with a small house, and the worry of something happening to the baby in the meantime, we wanted to wait until closer to my due date to start to collect what we needed.
In all reality, when a baby first arrives, they can survive with only food, diapers, clothing and their mama. Because of that, we were very precise in what we decided to order. With buybuy BABY’s newer location only 45 mins away, as well as a super simple online store, we thought they were the perfect place for one stop shopping so that we didn't have to waste our time and bounce from store to store.
So I guess that brings us to what did we order?
After selling the crib that housed both Aubrey and Poppy until they each were 2, we knew that was one thing we needed to invest in. We wanted something that will grow with this baby because they will probably have to stay in the crib longer due to sharing a room. We also knew that the crib was going to be in our bedroom for the next 6 months to 1 year. Because of that, we picked the crib to match our furniture in our room. This Babyletto one is stunning and fits our room esthetic perfectly.
This is one of those products that I read a lot of reviews on before purchasing. We have used a few previously, but wanted to have something that fought odor better and used less plastic waste. The Dekor seems to hit all those marks.
Our favorite bottles!
I’m not sure if its the shape of the top, the feel of the rubber, or what, but the Como Tomo bottles are without a doubt, the easiest to get baby to latch onto. And, although I plan on strictly Breastfeeding, you always need to prepare for the times where that might not go as planned. A fed baby is a happy baby no matter how they are fed.
With a new gorgeous farm sink in our kitchen, I knew I wanted to utilize it for baby baths. And, obviously my postpartum back is going to thank me for not bending in a tub or carrying a huge tub of water back and forth to the kitchen table. This whale shaped pillow like seat makes sink baths possible and comfortable for baby. We also got the matching rinserto help wash both the baby and big kids, as well as some organic washcloths from burts beesfor baby’s sensitive body.
SKIP*HOP Light Up Diaper Caddy
We are big advocates on co sleeping. But, with two older kids who need to get up for school and daycare, one parent needs to have a rested night sleep. This light up diaper caddy is going to be awesome for those nighttime bum changes where you can easily keep it by the side of your bed and the light will help you find everything you need so that you can get back to sleep.
The perfect addition to make any bag a diaper bag, this station has the ability to be equipped with everything you need for diaper changes on the go. I also love the handle, allowing you to head to the restroom with just baby and this in your arms, instead of all your gear.
Ergobaby Natural Curve Nursing Pillow
Nursing pillows are so handy to help easy breastfeeding back pain. They bring the baby up to your height and allow you to have a free hand or 2 while you nurse. I love the design and quality of this Ergobaby one, and its simplistic color so that it won't stick out no matter which room you just used it in.
Crib Bedding
We had an amazing mattress for both babies, and it is one of the items that hadn't gotten sold off when we moved. But to give it a refresh, I outfitted it with a newbb Basics Waterproof pad cover which is a must for any crib and thesoftest jersey %100 organic cotton Sheet from Burts Bees. The crib is now ready for Baby D to have a nap in.
This came on the market just as Poppy was at the age where she didn't really need it anymore. But, with the internet booming about how much of a life saver it is, we knew this was a must for this baby. I’ll let you know if it’s as good as they say.
