What Momma Bear Means to Me
Rob and I have been together for almost 4 years. We met when he started to come visit my roommate Ben in the spring of 2012. He had recently moved out of the city and needed a place to stay on the weekends which ended up being our couch. Having always been attracted to tall dark and handsome, he caught my eye right away. But being 6'6" and 280 lbs, his stature was a bit intimidating. We slowly started getting to know each other weekend after weekend, and I realized he was more of a teddy bear than a grizzly bear. His soft spirit and loving words made him so much more attractive. Because of my new found discovery of his true personality, his nickname from me quickly became Big bear. And because of that, he started to call me his little bear.Armed with these nicknames, we actually competed one month into our relationship in our local City Chase, a small scale, one city version of The Amazing Race. We needed a team name and it became The Bears. Then, a few months later, we found out about Aubrey. He became Baby bear until we decided on a name for him.Over the past year, I started to see my favourite accounts on Instagram, decked out in the Littlefield Lane Mamma Bear Necklace and I was automatically drawn to it. It brought back all the feelings of that new relationship with this amazing man who knows when to say all the right things at the right time. As well as those months of us preparing for our first little baby boy to make an appearance. Now as we prepare for our second baby bear, it seems fitting to finally have the necklace for myself. From those early days, to the protection for my children that I feel deep down inside, this necklace reminds me of how strong I am.
