Why We Got Ring Doorbells for our Home From Best Buy
As bloggers, we get A LOT of mail. We know our delivery drivers by name and even know what time approximately each one will show up in the day. But, with 3 kids and two busy businesses, we are not always home. In fact, many times, if you follow us on social media, you will know that if we are out of the house for work or away reviewing a trip, we are posting about it for all to know. That leaves us with two issues that we wanted to solve.
One: To be able to know when there is a delivery, even if they just drop it off and go
Two: To make sure our home is safe from intruders while we are away
We heard so many great things about the Ring Wi-Fi Video Doorbell sold at Best Buy. The option to have them attached to our phones was a winning feature. Especially if I'm getting Emmitt down for a nap or if we are away. With the big change in painting our exterior of our home, we thought now was the perfect time to invest and have them for our home.
We ended up getting two, one for the front door and one for the back. On the app, you can actually link and name them so that you know which door someone is at. For us this is super helpful because many times, new delivery drivers will attempt the back door before the front (we prefer the front). But, what shocked us the most was how much of a reach the camera had. With our front door, you can literally see from one side of the porch to the next, which is huge for us and knowing our home is safe.
We also love the two way talking features. This allows us to be able to accept packages, or scare intruders away from our phone wherever we are. But, there are also smaller, more thought out features of the doorbells. Like rechargeable batteries that are easy to remove. Super easy install (they even include your screwdrivers) and tamper proof screws to lock the camera and battery in place so that someone couldn't disconnect it.
Another winning feature and surprise for us is that it comes with two colored faceplates. A silver and a black. Obviously we installed the black to blend in with our newly painted exterior, but it's the little details like that which make the value of an item go way up.

We have had them for a bit now (we installed them right before we left for a vacation to PEI) and I had to play around with the sensitivity a bit (country living) but so far we are very happy with them.
