My Look: Shorts-7 For All Mankind, Tank Top-Gap(old), Jacket-Club Monaco(old), Sandals-Target
Back when I was in my small hometown going to school, my sisters and I were obsessed with fashion magazines. We would get about 5 delivered to the house each month, on top of the ones that my mother had for herself. Before internet and blogging days, this was where we found out our fashion trends, and in return what inspired me to go to college for fashion in the first place. We would always try to find the outfits that were in the magazine for ourselves. This led to me being the first in school to wear crops, or what I was teased to bits as 'Clam Diggers' (few months later everyone was in them). Another, was seeing Cameron Diaz in Uggs and needing them, People had never seen such ugly 'Mukluks' before.
I remember always reading about this denim company called 7 For All Mankind, and how they were "the bra for the bum". I then, would flip through the celeb style sections and see that my fashion idols of that age all wore them. So, at 15, my oldest sister Hollie introduced me to Ebay (later purchases were the uggs, fake LV purse, etc). I was making pretty good money Babysitting and doing every odd and end imaginable for my grand parents with no bills yet to pay, oh the good old days, and decided to bid on my first pair of Designer denim. They were a pair of 7 FAM flare in a Medium wash. I received them in the mail and was in love. My previous jeans could never measure up again.
Now, 12 years later, those first designer jeans are still with me, traveling 6 different countries and through pregnancy and post baby, somewhere in the mix becoming shorts. They are faded and stretched, but still have that feeling when I put them on. My first love, Denim style.
