The Denim Mission
A few weeks ago, I started on a mission to find a great pair of skinny jeans for this coming Fall and Winter. This is difficult because I'm a designer denim snob on a budget and my post baby body needs a good fit to make me feel confident in them. Many stores have been ventured into on this search. Here's what happened this weekend on my search:
Mills is a department store that has been in Halifax for around 100 years. It has just been bought out by 4 successful women in Halifax and moved from the place it's been since it's opening to a new location down the street. The updated version channels Holt Renfrew. It's a gorgeous layout and the staff are very helpful and not pretentious. They had a sale on this weekend where some things were up to 70% off. I lucked out and got a gorgeous Simone Perele underwear set ( I believe that a nice looking undie set always makes you feel more confident). I also got a while eyelet dress by Michael Kors. They sell many high end s brands and have a great denim selection. I tried a few pairs on in the continuing search for a great pair of mid rise skinnys and fell in love with one but $220 on a pair of jeans just wouldn't fit in the clothing budget for this month. Check out this store next time your in a shopping mood. It's definitley worth it. www.millsbrothers.com
The denim search ended at Old navy of all places. They have a sale on all skinny jeans at the moment for $19.00. Can you believe it? The least I've ever spent on jeans was at the gap for $70.00 and these are 1/3 of that. So I obviously thought it was hopeless but tried a pair on none the less. The first pair was their Flirt fit. Unsuccessful and like usual with cheap pants, too short in the leg. Next, was the new mid rise fit of the Rockstar. They fit perfect. Like a dream. The wash and pocket detail is very close to Jbrand and the wearing is similar to rich and skinny. The material is very soft and stretchy, yet structured enough to hold me and my trouble areas in. The sale ends soon so I recommend hitting it up soon. I know I've already got it planned to head there an grab another pair. At that price, can you blame me?
