2020 Holiday Home Tour
Guys, we made it to the last month of 2020. I can't believe we are finally here and this crazy year can come to a close. I hope that means for many of us life gets a little bit more back to normal in 2021.
Our year, as you know if you've been following us on Instagram, has been chock-full of renovations around the house. From fully overhauling our exterior with a new black roof, painting the house black on our own, and adding many other beautiful details like updating our lighting. We also renovated both bathrooms, added the skylights into our dungeon of a family room and made our laundry room fully useful with the addition of shiplap and Peg rails.
With all of those renovations slowly coming to an end, we now are able to deck the halls for the holidays and really value the work we put into this home over the last year.
This year, when it came to decorations we really focussed on making things on our own. Our home is filled with homemade garlands, ornaments made from renovation scraps, and utilizing A lot of faux Greens we have invested in over the last eight years. We wanted to go for simplicity and organic decor. We also Switched out things like our living room rug for a gorgeous vintage one from Revival Rugs (use Decoelis10 for 10% off) that has the perfect mix of reds, greens and creams to go well with our overall decor. We also updated our throw pillows with Tonic Living's winter collection, gravitating to their forest greens in lush materials like linen and velvet, as well as wool pillows in plaids and stripes.
From the front porch, to even our new full bathroom, No space in this home has been left undecorated and we literally have holiday cheer in every room we turn to. There are actually some views of this home which are my favourite that you can see a tree or a wreath with every turn.
What I love about Christmas is that decorations don't have to be expensive, some of our favourites are the ones that are handmade or collected over the years. Our family room tree is a mismatch of all of the ornaments we have collected as a family, each one meaning so much us. Our front room tree is more of a theme with wooden ornaments we have either made or collected and pewter ornaments I have been gifted by my grandmother and mom since I moved out of my home 15 years ago.
I hope you enjoy seeing each room and I hope it inspires you for your own Holiday decorations in your home.
