Invest In Furniture That Will Work For All Seasons

When we started redecorating this room last year, our first step was to find a couch that could fit all of us comfortably on it, stand up to two kids and a dog, and also be in a color that would work with any season and color of decor. We went with this Sectional from Mobilia and it has been perfect. When it came to our rug, we had tried many over the course of living in this house. But, we longed for a good punch of color in an otherwise monotone room. Surprisingly enough, Rob went with This Pink area rug from Wayfair for the space. We decorate mostly with Golds and whites at Christmas so we knew it would work for all seasons, and we loved how low pile it is so it can hold up to our kids and their messes. The Wild Decoelis | 5 Ways To Add Summer Vibes To Your Living Room | light turkish cotton blanket

Switch Up Your Throw Pillows and Blanket

We are totally those people who change up our pillows each season. For Summer, we wanted fresh and fun pillowcases and scored these ones on an insane sale at Chapters. It's crazy what a difference pillows can make in a space. Try it for yourself. When it comes to your blankets, pack the big fuzzy warm blankets away, and opt for a soft Turkish cotton blanket in a punch of color. The Wild Decoelis | 5 Ways To Add Summer Vibes To Your Living Room | fresh cut wild Lilacs

Fresh Flowers Are A Must

There's nothing that says summer, then fresh cut flowers. And, although I'd love to be the token blogger with all of the peonies, they are EXPENSIVE. To be honest, most flowers are. That's why we gravitate to picking whatever is growing in our backyard at the time or even on the sides of the roads. Don't have the budget for fresh? Homesense and Michaels have some awesome silk ones that you wouldn't even be able to tell weren't real. Less maintenance too ;)The Wild Decoelis | 5 Ways To Add Summer Vibes To Your Living Room | fun essential oil diffusers

Diffuse a Summer blend

We have been trying to rid our home from as many chemicals as possible lately. With that, we invested in essential oil diffusers around the house, instead of oil plugins. These ones from Amazon are our favorite. Try switching up the oils to a citrus and energizing blend for the summer months to get you up and going.pink and orange area rug The Wild Decoelis | 5 Ways To Add Summer Vibes To Your Living Room | pink rug from wayfair

Declutter Your Space

One of the main things that we had done over the winter, was decluttering our space from all of the kids' toys and other things that didn't need to be there. We used a buffet for our TV console so that we can store the kids' toys and weights away out of sight to really allow the space to take on that relaxing ambiance.
