My First Official Mother's Day
Last Sunday marked my first official Mother's day. To celebrate, we decided to do a family brunch with both my parents and Rob's mom at this cute restaurant in Lunenburg called Fleur De Sel. My mom has been dying to try it, but with it's high price menus, and the fact that you have to book so far in advance, she had yet to make it. They only serve brunch on occasions and holidays, so as soon as I knew it would be open, I booked us in. The food was amazing and the company even better. Aubrey kept us entertained the whole time, as he tried out many of our meals. Not to mention the fact that he looked so cute in his bow tie causing us to not keep our eyes off him.Once the meals were over and paid, we embarked on some of the local shops that we always luck out on. We found tons great gift ideas as well as some craft ideas for me. Before driving back to the city with my grumpy little guy, we drove down to the Corkum farm to celebrate Mother's Day with my Nanny. She was shocked at how busy Aubrey is now, and got to see him attempt a few steps. Having lost my Mom's Mom 8 years ago, Nanny means that much more to me and to know she is here to see Aubrey, her great grand baby grow up makes me feel truly blessed.Now for a little sappiness to my mom. Thank you, there are no words to describe what I have put you through in life, and how amazing you are to me, I can't even try. So, I will sum up all those feelings I have for you in two words, Thank you! You are who made me who I am, who influences my mothering of Aubrey, and who I consider a dear friend. Not a day goes by that I don't think about how lucky I am to have you a phone call away. I love you Mom.Now on to fathers day,Katie Rose xo
