Our Beach Getaway: Part 1 (The Morning)
At the beginning of last fall, Rob's mom surprised us with a family photoshoot with her in her hometown of Liverpool. Its about a 2 hour drive south from Halifax and is located right on the ocean. It has taken us until this weekend to actually plan a weekend down there to do it. Whats even better was that Rob had been posted there for work for the last 2 weeks. So, Saturday morning bright and early, Aubrey and I hit the road for the long drive down to be reunited with Rob, and spend some quality time with Nana. We were calling it our #beachgetaway because around Liverpool, there are some of the most beautiful beaches in Nova Scotia.We Started the morning off by strapping Aubrey into the stroller and walking down to the farmers market a few blocks away. There, we indulged in fresh pastries (Aubrey s Favorite) and did some background research for ordering a box of meats from local farmers for the deep freeze. We then, went home with just enough time to pack the cars up for the beach. On our way there, we realized it was probably a bad decision to go at this time because Aubrey was due for a nap, but we kept driving.Summerville Beach was gorgeous and warm. The ocean was so blue and crystal clear. Aubrey didn't want any clothes on so we let him run around naked for the first hour, hoping it would be a good break for his poor diaper-rashed skin. But, after an hour and 1/2, he was so over tired from the day that all he could do was cry and flop around on the beach blanket. We quickly packed our oasis up and drove back to Nana's place for a much needed nap.Check out part 2 of our getaway tomorrow (the true getaway part)Katie Rose xo
