Welcome To The Wild Decoelis

The Wild Decoelis | Logo graphic by Studio Silvana5 years ago, I started this blog. I was 4 months pregnant with Aubrey, Rob and I weren't together, I was fighting depression and was unsure if I was going to be a single mother or not. I decided to bring my thoughts and frustrations to a small little blogger site because there didn't seem to be any mom bloggers out there that were in the same predicament as me. This blog became an open journal for those moms doing things differently and afraid it was wrong.Once Aubrey joined us on the outside, Rob and I figured our stuff out (and that fact that we were madly in love) and the blog was growing, this space became many things, from crafts, DIYs, Fashion (that stage when the kid won't stand still for a photo) beauty and many more. Those years were very one-sided. They were a mothers look at things as opposed to a parent's. So using a name like Wild Rosebuds (my childhood nickname) fit well.Over the past year, as the blog became more than what one mama of two could handle, Rob became a voice in this space. And although he may not have sat down and written many posts, he was there behind me helping to voice both of our opinions. So, the space became more of a full family space as opposed to just me.Knowing that we were growing out of a self-centered blog space, we knew it was time to not only update our space but also, to rebrand to better suit the written word that now is in this blog. One of a joint team, both mom, and dad.Playing on our Wild name from the previous blog, we decided on our last name as its original and rare. The Wild Decoelis (DE-CHEL-EES) is officially here and we can't wait to share what is in store with you.

Website:

When it came to redesigning our space, we turned to Etsy.ca. Did you know that Etsy has many sellers who are website designers? From custom built sites like ours to new themes that you can set up yourself. Ther are a great and affordable first place to check when designing your own blog or website.

Our New Logo:

Instagram allows you to connect with so many cool people and brands. Recently, I stumbled upon an artist named Silvana Herrebout in the Netherlands with the coolest illustrations of people. I was automatically drawn to her work and it was just what Rob and I were wanting to add to our new logo. We commissioned her to draw a graphic for our logo of just Rob and I as we were afraid that having the kids who age so quickly make cause it to quickly look outdated. Because of that, we had only sent headshots of the two of us.The email came through with her finished work and when I opened the file, it brought tears to my eyes. She ended up putting the kids in, capturing them and us perfectly and I realized, that I wanted them in it after all. The graphic is such a personal addition to our new brand and I have never felt so happy to make a change.Want her to draw you? Head here to find out how to request one.Katie-Rose &Rob
