Last day of school has just been dismissed and I’ve got three excited kids because not only are they free for the summer but We are about to have the busiest summer yet when it comes to cousins from around the world. I’ll just be over here smelling my roses hoping the days don’t go by too fast.

9 years ago on a very rainy day at 6:56 am you came earthside and made us a family. Over the last nine years, I have been able to watch you become the biggest Hype man for everyone you know, the kindest big brother, making sure Poppy and Em are happy, even if it sacrificed your own happiness. You are to the book on everything and it keeps us in line. Honestly, I wouldn’t want you any other way. You are becoming my best friend Bubba. 😭😭😭I love you! Happy birthday!

One of my favourite things about antique markets are to find something that was used as a utilitarian piece 100+ years ago and allow myself to imagine it in a new light. We went antiquing this weekend and found this epic artillery basket just thrown to the side in someone’s booth behind a chair. I immediately was drawn to it, picturing it in a kitchen full of tall cutting boards. Rob visualized it dawning a wall. And here we are, a day later with both our visions coming together for a perfect addition to our kitchen. What do you think?

To the absolute love of my life. We did life backwards where you became a father before anything else. You were made for it. You make these three feel protected and loved. You bring the silliness that I don’t. You are the most amazing dad and I’m so thankful that 10 years ago when we found out I was pregnant, your reaction was pure bliss and happiness. Do you iron your sheets?
I will be the first to admit that we absolutely love sleeping in linen bedding. We got our first set of linen sheets a few years ago when we moved into this house and since then, all but one set of sheets we have purchased in the last four years have been linen. What I don’t like to use though, there’s an iron. I don’t even know where our ironing board is. I also don’t use flat sheet but that’s for another post. Let me know down below if you are one of those people who iron your bedding before you put it on or are like me and let The wrinkles get lived in.

This has been my view all day as we fight day three of whatever weird stomach virus Em has caught. It was very Monday, with having coffee run out, and a sick babe. I’m ready for the weekend and hopefully healthy family.

I knew I always wanted to be a mom. I was the litt

I knew I always wanted to be a mom. I was the little girl who carried dolls around till I was probably way too old. But, I will admit I didn’t choose to become a mom when I did. It was like Aubrey knew Rob and I needed him to come and show us how good life can be and what we both were missing. Two surprises, a loss, and a planned sweet baby later, I now stand as a mom of 3. A COMPLETELY different person than I was 9 years ago. They changed me, molded me into the person my 8 year old doll totting self only dreamed of and I still can’t believe I’m here. Every day, I get to experience a love that so many want but might not be able to have. I never take it for granted. And, even though I’m currently laying with my baby as he sleeps next to me fighting the stomach flu, I know that mothers day is a celebration each and every time my kids say “love you mom”. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you whether you are mom to your own children, pets or even just a motherly figure to your friends. You all deserve the best today and everyday.

One design feature I don’t like about our home:
Our kitchen is in the centre of our home. I get it, it’s central for us all to gather, but having our kitchen literally in the centre of our home in all aspects doesn’t allow for windows to watch the kids outside or natural sunlight. But, we make the most of it and love the place we are in.

We live in a sailing village on the coast of the south shore here in NS, where the majority of homes are white cedar shake. But why blend in when you can stand out?

I stumbled on this photo this weekend and remembered how proud I was of us talking this all on our own. Also, those lavender trees on the table are making me now want more. Looks like a trip to the garden centre is in order.

This time, as you guys know, we have been picking away at switching our house cleaning products for new and more sustainable ones. I have been to a few @norwex parties and was
always super interested in their products. I finally have my hands on the Safe Haven 5 set to get us started. What I love about them is that it’s a cloth instead of a product, so less waste to the environment and no chemicals. Plus, when they are too dirty to reuse, you just toss them in the wash, hang to dry and they are ready to be used again. With April only days away, we are knee deep in planning our exterior landscaping plans. A pea stone grace patio is definitely a must! We love this one @camellaslloret and I have to admit I’ve literally spent hours taking notes from all their IG posts of the space.

We still LOVE our Nims sofa by @mobiliacanada. Although it is now too large for this space, we are planning on using it in our parents renovation (check out highlights) and to help us style the tv space in their new flex room we are have been working on, I got to work with @mobiliacanada new web tool that allows you to design an entire room using your room’s measurements to make sure not only do the pieces fit, but that they make sense placed together in scale. This has been a game changing tool for our designs for personal use as well as our clients and I had so much fun figuring out what would work with our Nims sofa.
