Farewell to 2017

Wild Rosebuds | Farewell To 2017Oh hello there.....For the last week, I took a break from all things blog and social media (besides the here and there instastory) for the first time in over a year. Rob and I didn't even lift a camera throughout the whole Christmas season. Which, now that it has passed, we have some regrets over as we didn't document anything for our kids to look back on. But, on the plus side, in a business where we overshare everything about our life and family (which we love doing), it was nice to be hectically present in all of the Christmas magic with our children. I even extended the break after Christmas and took my first nap on our couch since we moved into this house 2 years ago. The break was much needed for both our mental and creative sanity. But, with 2017 coming to an end, I have also been taking the last week to reflect on the past year and how I have grown both as an individual, a wife and as a mother. This blog has gone from part-time hours to full time and something I am so proud of. My children having both parents working from home, a decision made in the past 4 months, has been a huge factor in their happiness that they are spreading throughout the world. And with Rob home and helping with the blog, I get to actually have a healthy relationship and spend time with my husband instead of him slaving at 2 jobs and 16 hour work days. The real people to thank for the growth of both myself and my blog, are you, readers. You come to this little space to read about our life and thoughts. You send messages to help us make decisions, give us parenting advice and positive criticism. You accept me for all of my flaws, bad grammar and all. I am just one of you who turned to writing online 5 years ago when I felt so alone and knew that someone else probably needed to hear they weren't alone as much as I did. I am not a writer, I did not go to school for journalism, but I do love to talk and I appreciate you listening. So cheers, to a year of growth for us all and to 2018 being a year of change.I love and appreciate each and every one of you!
