This Life Is Too Fast Pace

This week has been long and hard. We are going on our second week with Rob working away and me being on my own throughout the week. Im not sure if its that or work that is weighing on me, but I can’t help but think about how much of Aubrey’s life I am missing by working full time. This life has gotten too fast paced. This past week its becoming more apparent that he is learning so many big things and not from me. I see them and I stop and think…..since when do you know how to do that? It hurts my heart.

Tonight, once we said goodbye to Nana, I took Aubrey up into our bed and we just laid there snuggling. It was there first time that we did this in months because I didn’t want to start bad habits. He kept pushing harder into me (the opposite of usual), and as his eyelids closed one last time, I finally felt at ease a little bit. This tiny little body had been at home inside me protected for 9 months, and then by my side for 12 months  every day after that, Now is 14 month old and I sometimes hardly recognize him. He now can tell matching shoes and knows that all he has to do is bring them to us and we will take him outside to play. He knows that his soother needs to be removed to talk, and that sippy cups need to be tilted (finally). He will eat off a plate or bowl for a good amount of time before flipping them over and his hello almost sounds legible.

These weekends of Fall coming fast are going to be full of cuddles, and family adventures, and all things family oriented so that I can fill this void I have felt for a while now.  I can’t wait!
