Through my personal journey, I have learned that taking the time to focus on self-care is so important for mental health, especially during this pandemic. It’s something I’m also teaching to our kids along with having open conversations about mental health in a space that feels comfortable to them. Whether you are able to talk to them on their way home from school in the car or at the dinner table, these are the moments that allow us as parents to teach our children the importance of mental health.
In Canada, children and youth often do not receive the mental health services and early intervention they need, and we need your help to change that. I’m partnering with @Sobeys and Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundation for the #FamilyOfSupport campaign to raise awareness and funds for child and youth mental health. Happiest birthdays to the love of my life. 8 years ago we met, both broken and lost. But, with some magic that somehow kept us together, we have literally made it through everything, found our happiness and fixed the broken pieces. I said goodbye to my sister, niece and nephew for

I said goodbye to my sister, niece and nephew for another year. 2020 has been hard on so many levels, but it also brought my sister home for the longest period of time in our adult life. Not only did I spend such great time with her over the last 5 months, but our kids (the 6 cousins all together) became closer than we could have ever thought. It’s going to be hard to transition into not having built in best friends minutes away but we can just count down the days until next June rolls around and they are with us again. Safe travels back to Abu Dhabi @halfhealthyhollie 😘.

Who else has been planning out a home office or homework station? We are so happy with this little corner we made, but with the table being attached to the original
wainscoting, we didn’t want to put any more holes in the upper portion to hang our DIY
chalk board. We grabbed our favourite @CommandCanada Picture Hanging Strips and were able to hang it securely without damaging the walls. We also are using one of their clear caddies to hold the chalk so that it doesn’t take any room up on the desk. Genius if you ask me 😉 *ad #DoNoHarm

Ok, I'm admitting that Rob does all of the laundry

Ok, I'm admitting that Rob does all of the laundry in our home, and recently he switched our family over to @Tidelaundry PODS plus Downy Free. But, on the days that I don't, Emmitt and I do a little walk around the neighbourhood in the afternoon. There’s just something about dogs and babies, am I right? We adopted Zeus from the SPCA as a puppy when Aubrey was not much older than Emmitt is now. It has been 5 1/2 years of being dog owners and we have definitely learned a lot in those years. One thing that we strongly believe in is making sure we take Zeus to the vet whenever his mood changes or we see signs of extreme itching. From unknown tick bites to severe food allergies, we have found out so many things by just looking at the signs and getting a vet's expertise for the right answers and plans. With healthy skin, he is a happy dog who has more patience with these kids than I do. I have teamed up with @royalcanincanada to spread the word that if you have an #itchypetseeyourvet. *ad

With fall and cold and flu season not far away, we are making every effort to be going into it as healthy as we can be. Anyone else have a personal hairstylist? Poppy is obsessed with having beautiful longhair like her favourite princesses. She has now told me that I need to grow my hair long like her and I totally agree. I mean, the short hair has been great, but I really miss my long locks. The key to growing your hair out is to have healthy hair so I switched over to @garniercan Whole Blends Honey Treasures Repairing line to get my hair in the best health to grow. Bonus? It smells

Can you believe this renovation only took us three days to complete? I think the power of paint is strong. Giving this a moody hue from @behrpaint in Barnwood Gray PPU24-07 with a fun Voyage PPU13-7 stool accent, and a DIY floating vanity, we were able to totally transform our powder room into something that feels more like it belongs in a spa.
