How To: Turn An Old Halloween Costume Into A Scarecrow

The Wild Decoelis | How To: Turn An Old Halloween Costume Into A Scarecrow | only need a few thingsWe have a future Hoarder on our hands. While digging out our winter gear, we found Aubrey's Robot costume from last year. I wanted to donate it as he doesn't fit in it anymore, but he wouldn't allow it. He was getting so upset and I started feeling guilty. Now, mind you, usually, when this stuff happens, I'll just sneak it into the donate bag the first moment I get when he has forgotten about it, but this is different. Aubrey is obsessed with Robots and introduces himself to strangers as "Hi I'm Aubrey and I am going to be an engineer and invent robots when I grow up" so I think this costume meant more to him than I had realized. The Wild Decoelis | How To: Turn An Old Halloween Costume Into A Scarecrow | Aubrey Helping place the scarecrowNow knowing this, but also knowing that I didn't want a costume just laying around because he wanted to occasionally look at it, I made him a deal. This year we were going to stuff it with paper and use it as a scarecrow for Halloween. He loved the idea. Then, once it has been outside for a month, he will have a better grasp on us having to let the costume go. I just used newspaper and packing paper from mail we had received. IT was super easy!
