**REVEAL DAY**
It has been just shy of 6 months since we started construction on our laundry room and we still have a month worth of work left. But here she is, 2/3rd done and fully functional. Our flooring and cabinets were installed by @invoguehomedesign and I’m so happy that we hired out. We love all the DIYs but sometimes it’s ok to know that you in over your head and to budget for help you need. I covered all about my process with them helping us design the space, what it looks like right now, and what’s still left to do over on the blog. I feel like in recent years, we are all looking for ways to be more sustainable to help our environment. It doesn’t have to all come at once, it can happen in small changes over time. A lot of these choices we make are for our beautiful children, so they can have a healthy future. When it comes to groceries, buying local and in season is important for being sustainable, but @sobeys is going one step further. This room used to be one massive room with an awkward layout but now it’s 2/3 of the size to make way for the laundry on the other side. This is my postpartum journey. Six months ago when I was 3 weeks postpartum, I took the second photo. I Bared my postpartum belly where three babies had grown healthy enough to make it to the outside. Now with this new photo, I’ll have some people say I didn’t lose the weight fast enough and other people saying I lost it too fast. But the only person I need to please is myself and the baby that I am nursing. I have spent the last six months of this journey, my last journey, nourishing my body the way it supposed to, moving it so that both my mind and my muscles can keep up with what it takes to have a big family. I am happy with where I am, I am happy with where I am going, and to be totally blunt it’s none of your business What I choose to do with this body, the timeline for it, and if you agree with it or not. In a season of our life where we need the most support, we need to stop knocking each other down. Instead, we need to high five each other for the small accomplishments. It’s always a weird time when Christmas decorations come down yet winter has only just started. Our house always feels so empty. Do you feel me? While everyone on the internet seems to be packing up Christmas, i’m over here holding onto it for dear life while trying to figure out where in the world I’m going to put all of the things that we got. This year got away from us. Our aim was less things but Book a family trip instead, and I have to admit we failed. So now I’m all over my phone googling the Montessori ways to organize toys while I stare at this sweet boy and all of his loud plastic toys that he loves so dearly but Instagram doesn’t. #cheerstothenewyear

4 years ago I was 8 week pregnant with Poppy and Rob and I decided we wanted to be married before she arrived. We wanted it to be special because we didn’t have a ton of money so we chose to elope on my favorite day, Christmas Eve Eve, at the restaurant that we had our first date at. We told our moms to meet us for lunch and surprised them by getting married by the fireplace and them signing as our witnesses. It was the perfect Definition of eloping in a day and age where any small wedding tries to use that word. And I would do it all over again any day my love. It has been a bumpy 8 year together. But it has also been perfect for us and brought us to where we are today. Marriage is HARD but if you both work at it, it is so so so worth all of the work you put into it. Rob and I did inventory last weekend and started to stress, did we buy enough for our kids, will their stockings be full, did we spend equal amounts on all of them? I’m sure you all feel the stress of this as well, so we made a massive wish list of what we should be getting more of for them. But, then we asked Aubrey what was his favorite part of Christmas and his response had nothing to do with gifts, it was all about the decorations and traditions we do and will be doing. Well, I just about bawled. We think we are doing wrong as their parents, focusing on all the mistakes, but really, we are doing pretty darn great and I’m proud of that. His answer was the best gift ever. P.s totally smashed my boob on the letterboard running for the self timer, hence the laughs 😉 #letterboardquotes

We are HUGE on traditions. As a family made up of decades of Christmas tree farmers and loggers, Christmas was always the biggest deal and everyone loved spending the holidays together with many meals shared. In fact, it’s so big that Rob and I eloped on Christmas Eve because it’s a special date to me. These cookies we are busy making have been the recipe my mom made and the same one I make every year for Santa ever since I can remember. I now get to pass that down to my kids who love it just the same. @sobeys is always our go-to for our holiday baking and entertaining. Are you a coloured Christmas lights person or do you like all-white lights? I have always been a white lights type of girl but Rob loves colours. So, we are doing both. Between re-roofing the house this month, and painting in the spring, we needed to be able to put them up with ease and also remove them without damaging our woodwork on our eaves. @commandcanada came to the rescue with their outdoor light hooks which also allowed these quirky kids to help out too.
