Compass Rose Salon- Spoil Yourself
As you readers know, I'm having a lot of trouble with this pregnancy, holding onto myself. With Aubrey's pregnancy, life wasn't much different. I was still going to the gym, had my full income to spend on myself, and was able to spend a lot of time with friends. Unfortunately, there is no gym happening with this pregnancy from the nausea I still get waves of, I have a new job and a family to help support, and well...lets just say, friends are few and far between, especially since moving. I have literally lost the feeling of me and seem to spend my days cleaning our house, preparing meals, and resting because this baby is making me need a lot of rest. I feel like a bit of a ghost of my former self and have realized in the past 2 weeks that I needed to shake this funk.One bonus to being back in my home grounds, is that I get to check out all those friends from a lifetime ago who stayed or moved back home and how successful they have made things for themselves in such a small town. My oldest sister's close friend from high school, opened a lunchet and Salon called Compass Rose Salon in the past year and I have been meaning to go but had so many excuses for why I hadn't. I finally checked it out during my mission to get rid of this pregnancy funk and was spoiled by enjoying lunch and a service just for myself...Lash extensions, every girls must have if you hate make up but want to always look put together. The great thing about small towns is that, as I was eating my AMAZING burrito (and I mean worth the hour drive from the city amazing) My close friend Erin stopped in for lunch and we were able to get a quick catch up in before I relaxed in the hands of Emma, the fantastic aesthetician that does it all. It really felt like I had regained a bit of myself again. The adult female conversation, the feeling of a spa retreat doing something out of the ordinary, and a full belly was just what I needed to get a bit of myself back.So ladies, next time you need an escape and to feel beautiful, hit the highway to Chester with an empty belly and stop just for the food at Compass Rose Salon.
