The 48 Hour Hair Dilemma
So, after weeks of searching for the exact cut and colour that I wanted, I decided to take the plunge and transform my hair into what people are calling a "lob". A long bob, with very little layers and ombre tips. When I priced it out with my hairstylist, she A. wouldn't dye my hair ombre, claiming my hair isn't strong enough to handle it, and B. it would cost over $220 which didn't fit into this whim of a budget. After talking to a hometown friend who just recently became a hairstylist, she would charge me half the price for the same look.I walked into the salon that day and was so nervous. This salon and Spa is awesome by the way and if you are in the south shore area you should check out Luna Salon Spa. She began by chopping off the bottom of my hair making it sit perfectly below my collar bone. Looking back, I should have just stopped there and got her to just even it up and then add a few layers. But no, I decided I wanted to go through with it and cut it shorter and add the ombre. Four hours went by and my hair was finally revealed. It was exactly what I asked for, but as the night went on, I regretted my decision more and more. This isn't the first time I have tried blonde in my hair, but it is the shortest time it lasted. 48 hours later, I was back in the salon chair getting it dyed back to my natural colour, praying for the hair gods to grow it over night back to below my chest. The salon was closed, and because the girls that run the salon are all high school friends, Jacqueline came in on her day off to do me the favour of dying it back. Rob and Aubrey were with me so when the dye was in and the waiting time was to begin, we decided to hop in the car (dye in my hair up in a clip with a towel wrapped around my shoulders) and drove to my parents where I washed it out and styled it myself. Now to learn how to style it while I wait for it to grow back.Hold me to it, NO MORE BLONDE!!Katie Rose xo
