As I dive deeper into this whole motherhood life, I have noticed a trend. Moms proudly wearing #boymom gear when they have all boys or #girlmom for all girls. Growing up in a house of three girls, I know first hand that having multiple kids of the same sex is really hard, especially when puberty and hormones come into play, but what about moms of children of both sex? Do we not matter?

I get it! It is every family's dream of having one of each. One boy, preferably oldest, and one girl, your baby girl. You have no idea how many people say the phrase 'millionaires family' when they find out we have a boy and a girl. But guess what people.....IT'S JUST AS HARD. Parenting is parenting and we should be proud to be moms period.

I think I was the opposite of those 'millionaires'. Growing up in a family of all girls and being a self proclaimed 'tomboy', I longed to have all boys for my children. We had all our fingers and toes crossed that we would get that wish. But, we then found out Poppy was a girl and this warmth came over me. Although I thought I wanted to be a #boymom, I quickly realized that I loved having both. Aubrey gives me all the feels for trucks, and dirt, and all true boy fun, where as Poppy will give me tea parties and mommy and me mani/pedis and getting to play with dolls all over again. I want to love each minute of both their worlds.

Just because I have one of each doesn't mean my kids wont bicker, or get sick, or have raging fights due to hormones. I love being a mom. and I am proud of my children because they are my children. So where is my hashtag?
