The Day has come…for a few years now, Rob and I have been talking about where our next step should lie with this blog. If you’ve been following along for a while, you will notice that my posts haven’t been as frequent as they used to be. I can blame this on multiple things including having two more children since having this blog live. But, in actuality I needed something to draw me back into this platform because without me focussing on it, neither will you.
As most of you know, we are also wedding Photographers. I say we, but it’s actually Rob and I just shoot with him. But with that career Rob has most of his winters off with the exception of a few engagement and business photo shoots here and there. He is the secret to how I can get so many things done. At the beginning of this winter he felt like he needed something more. He loves doing all of the renovations in the house but he wanted some thing to fill his time in between each project. So I started giving him ideas for things I want to decorate the house for different holidays starting with Christmas and he fell in love with the idea of working with wood in his new shop.
We had the idea of opening up a shop on our site for a while now. I went to college for retail management and my dream was always to own a bricks and mortar store. After spending a few years in the fashion industry I realized it wasn’t for me and began other carriers until this blog ended up taking off without the idea that it could. This little space on the Internet has become so much for us and the shop is just the perfect evolution of a side project.
For now, it will be mostly handmade items using wood that has been milled in our family, water run 200-year-old mill on my Grampy’s farm. Each log Cut and Limbed and buy my dad. But our vision doesn’t stop there. With your support of purchases from the shop, we will be able to put that money back in to not only get woodworking tools allowing us to make more items, but the possibility of bringing in wholesale items as well.
So, without further ado, welcome to The Wild Decoelis Shop. You can Find The link here. Currently we are only doing a pre-order of six of each size board. Once purchases start coming in we will be able to judge how many we should be making for our next drop of products. I’m going into this with low expectations, but if for whatever crazy reason we do sell out, just know that it won’t be long until we refresh. Also in the comments below please let us know what else you would like to see in our shop. (Bath Trays are coming soon)
