Family Dates In The Great Wilderness
Having great friends is so important! As a mom, friendships get super hard to keep. Having two crazy kids doesn't seem too inviting to many people. To those who are ok with it and moms themselves, they are living just as busy a life. Between nap times, melt downs, and feedings, spending time with other people may never seem to fit into your schedule. But, last year around this time, I met a girl over Instagram who was in the same boat as me. With two kids within a few months of mine, Amy and I are in the same situation in our lives. On top of that, our boys are great at playing together, and our husbands also get along great. WINNING! We both know that family traditions and outings are so important, especially during the holidays. So, we bundled up the families and headed out with all four kids and two husbands, a day after a snowstorm to grab some cute kids trees from my great uncle's u-cut tree lot. It took a bit for the kids to get in the wilderness spirit but the fresh air and hard trek helped get all of the toddler energy out.We spied our trees from the road and both husbands ventured into the deep snow to cut them down. Adam, Amy's husband had never cut a tree down before, plus, this was their first real tree since having kids. Those together meant there were a ton of big moments that happened. It was a perfect afternoon out together and there will be more to come as two families, including New Year's Eve! To be honest, it's just great to spend time with a fellow mama and not worry about talking too much about our kids or our blogs. Friends are GREAT!
