A Weekend Staycation In Borrowed Sunglasses
This weekend started with Rob and I being DD to my mom and my visiting relatives from the yearly Wine Festival, which meant leaving the city and heading to Chester. We decided why not make a weekend out of it and head to places that are closer to them than if we drove from the city. Saturday was the first adventure of hiking Blomidon Provincial Park, apple picking and a winery tour. That was our plan anyways. We slept in, I forgot my sunglasses, The drive was horrible with traffic, the hike was 10 x more difficult (especially with a grumpy baby) and long, and by the time we got back to the car, all we had energy for and Aubrey would allow was drive thru MacDonalds and to head straight home. After a day like that, we decided to stick closer to home and do some window shopping in the touristy towns surrounding my parents. We had an amazing lunch at a restaurant in Lunenburg called 'The Salt Shaker Deli' and then walked the streets of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, lucking out on some great pieces for our home. It all ended in a delicious home cooked dinner with my whole family at my parents. Such a great weekend to end a busy September month.
Happy Adventuring,
Katie Rose xo
