Let’s brighten things up in here!
This old farmhouse needed a little refresh for spring and summer coming through. Not only were our wool slip covers, needing to be switched out for some thing lighter, but we wanted the whole space to feel brighter, bringing in the light.

OK, as a new cat owner I am starting to learn all about the different tips and tricks on how to take care of your kitties. One thing I didn’t realize was how much scooping of the litter box I was going to do. We already switched the litter which is making life so much better, but then what do you do when you need to clean it out? The @littergenie Easy Roll cat

We finally printed off a family portrait. #ad We haven’t had any new family photos hung in our home in so long, and now with our new home, we really wanted to get something up on the wall. I swear paint makes a space have completely different feelings and creates personality in one step.

We are so happy we jumped one the brown wall trend and grabbed this taupe beauty of a color for the walls. Now for a little cream floor paint, a beautiful rug and the finishing pieces to make this space feel more like us.

Trim, some paint and a bedside table is left but to say this was. A very large primary suite with sliding patio doors into our red bedroom just a few months ago, and now is a beautiful little girls room and a hallway is kind of shocking. When you’re in the space, you think it has always been like this and that is always our goal when we renovate. This wallpaper by @anewalldecor steals the show for sure.

Let’s just add hardwood floor layers to our résumé…

Sometimes in DIY, fears take over, and even though you do months of research on how to do some thing properly, you just can’t get the ambition to start it thinking that you could possibly fail.

we never thought we’d be able to pull this off. My whole life laying hardwood seemed expensive and intimidating. When we made the decision to go with white oak to match the flooring that has been in the home for the last 25 years, we were able to find flooring for a great price, but the installation cost the same amount as the wood. We needed to make sure we could do it on our own. This weekend we took it on and I can’t believe it looks as good as it does. And on the plus side, we have enough left over to do the powder room off the kitchen. Now comes the hard part of trying to make the old and new match as close as possible.

Here’s to the next step in creating our dream kitchen.

But, Poppy wanted to feel like she was sleeping in the sky, and as the only girl in the family and the one who had to go the longest without a proper room in this new home, we wanted to give her exactly what she wanted.
