Hard Mom Days in a Hatley Dress
My Look: Dress c/o Hatley
Today was one of those really hard days as a mom. It was hot and humid and since the moment we woke up the world seemed mad at me. Poppy has yet to develop the token 'fussy time' but each day we seem to be getting closer to it. Today she was fussy, so fussy that she wouldn't let me put her down, not even for a second. This in turn made me hot and grumpy. On top of dealing with a poor 3 week old who can't vocalize why she was so miserable, Aubrey has seemed to hit that first born moment. The one where he realizes that Poppy isn't going anywhere. Because of this, every time she needed my attention, which was pretty much all morning, he would throw a fit and need me all to himself. On top of this, the drop off at daycare was even worse with him grabbing my leg and screaming bloody murder as I tried to walk out the door. Needless to say, I cried the whole drive into the city.
With a day of appointments and shoots planned, having a fussy baby made it that much harder. Although the first of my morning went well, with a great meeting that I will announce soon, by lunch time all went to hell in a hand basket. So like a hormonal new mom should do, I sat in the car with the air-conditioning on high, Poppy screaming in her carseat for no reason that I could figure out, crying my little heart out. It was that horrible messy cry, with mascara and snot and all. And the crying lasted the whole hour drive to my parents to pick up Aubrey, and then started again when my mom asked how I was.....Oh Motherhood.
One positive about this day was this fantastic dress from Hatley. Until Recently, I had only known them for their awesome pjs and fun printed children's clothes, but their womens line is really A+. From Dresses, to pants, to Outerwear, they have everything for the on the go busy mom. I gravitated to this amazingly soft shirt dress as breastfeeding is on the top of my mind. So head over and check out what else they offer.
