A Fitness Addict's Confession With Boob Design
I have a confession to make. I am a fitness addict, and have been since grade 6 when I was given the nickname in school from a not very nice girl of "Porkum" (play on my last name Corkum). Since then I started running. Back then, it was just a quick 2-3kms every night in the summer. I mostly ran power line drills with my sister using the excuse that I was training for soccer, even though I was never really good at the sport. Through the years, I became more serious of a runner, claiming 10km races as my thing and they still will be. In addition I added fantastic strength training like pilates, yoga and most recently Kayla Itsines' Bikini Body Guide. I felt horrible if I didn't work out 5-6 days a week.This addiction carried through with Aubrey's pregnancy. Before I found out I was pregnant, 8 km runs were my nightly way to relax and I was doing them about 5 days a week. Once pregnant I took it a bit easier with machines like the elliptical at the gym, but focused on my strength training. At 32 weeks, I was still going strong and was told by my doctor that I had to slow it down so that I could get my weight up for Aubrey. But, less than 2 weeks after Aubrey was born, I was in my pre baby jeans and was walking almost everyday during his naptime 5-10kms. It's when I feel the best.Now for the real Confession. I have yet to work out with this pregnancy. I tried yoga a few times but for some reason the nausea and fatigue are hitting me way worse this pregnancy. I also tried walking, but with some not so nice pregnancy side effects going on, the walking, can become quite painful. At 33 weeks I weigh 5 more pounds than I did going to labour with Aubrey. Looking into the mirror, I don't recognize myself. My paleo diet was out the window months ago and seems to be replaced by ice cream for lunch and nachos for dinner. Add in my new found stretch marks on my belly, and the varicose veins popping on my legs, I feel so guilty for how far I have allowed things to go. But the main issue now is that Baby girl is still laying transverse right across my midsection.So, after a few hours on google, I have come up with a game plan. In the next 5 weeks I want to turn this baby right side down and guarantee a natural birth. Walking every day and squats squats squats, that seems to be the secret. So, here goes nothing.I'm so happy I have this look c/o Boob Design. You have seen them on here before and I've told you about the lux way they have been designed for Pre and post delivery. As you can see, the sports bra not only is nursing but also has padding in the shoulders to help with that extra weight up top when your milk comes in. The top has their token nursing/growing belly flap and even the leggings can be worn over the belly or rolled down for post baby use.
