Our Favorite Rain Gear For The Whole Family

The Wild Decoelis | Our Favorite Rain Gear | Faire child rain gearWith the rainy season here in Nova Scotia, it's hard to not want to stay inside all day long. But, we would rather brave the rain and adventure, especially after a long cold winter.Rob and I hardly let the rain stop us and love to plan fun things like the beach for the kids on those days. you have no idea how actually relaxing it is to get outside in the rain when it's your own decision. There is something about the rain coming down on you (when you are properly dressed for it) that is so freeing. Being caught in the rain was my favorite part of summer running. Am I weird? Probably. The Wild Decoelis | Our Favorite Rain Gear | Sibling Love The Wild Decoelis | Our Favorite Rain Gear | miss poppy in polka dots The Wild Decoelis | Our Favorite Rain Gear | beach combing The Wild Decoelis | Our Favorite Rain Gear | Faire child JacketBecause we love this in-between season so much, we wanted to round up our favorite rain gear for the whole family so that you also can be prepared to love it as well.

This new company based in Dartmouth, N.S, not only is making amazing rain gear with a classic look, but each item is made specifically to grow with your child, rain proof, wind proof, recyclable, and most of all has been made from fabric that was once plastic bottles. They are dedicated to teaching our children how the garments are made and the true meaning of slow fashion. Aubrey has both the Jacket, splash pants, and Hat and put them to the test over the last few weeks to really see how much they could handle. From puddle splashing, mud rolling, and beach walks during a downpour, he was perfectly warm and dry underneath. The sizes run from 3T-10 and they have multiple styles to choose from. Once Poppy is in size 3, we are going to get her into a pair of their overalls (sooo cute).

Other Rain Gear For All Sizes

When it comes to Poppy's size gear, we are loving this Jacket and these pants. They are affordable and lined, allowing you to get used out of them from the first sign of spring to the first snowfall. We bought a size bigger than what fits so that they last. We also have had awesome luck with this jacket for Aubrey and this Rainsuit For Poppy last year.

Rain Boots

When it comes to boots, we like to invest in great boots once the kids growing has slowed down, but use high street brands when they are still little like Poppy. When it comes to the higher priced brands, we look for Hunter boots or Hatley, and always invest in a size bigger than they currently wear plus purchase an insole that can be cut down to size. For high street brands, we love Joe Fresh and H&M because they don't break the bank and are easy to go to with locations everywhere. The Wild Decoelis | Our Favorite Rain Gear | Faire child The Wild Decoelis | Our Favorite Rain Gear | Miss Poppy picking up rocks

Jackets

When Rob and I invest in Rain Gear we really like to get Waterproof as opposed to water resistant. We look for Polyurethane to guarantee that and they also last longer. I love my green coat from Rains and Rob has had his eye on this one, but they are a bit of an investment. If you have a smaller budget but want the same look, Zara has this one, and I love this one H&M has. Rob also loves this one and this one.

Boots

Rain boots are one of those things to invest in. You want to have good quality rubber that doesn't break down quickly with age. I have had these Hunters for 11 years now and they are still in perfect condition. I also have a style like these which are perfect for rainy days in the city and are only $40. Rob has his eye on these hunters and these crocs that are an inexpensive option for less than $65.What is your favorite activity to do in the rain?Katie-Rose &Rob.
